New up and coming blues rock band BLINDFOLDS, have finally announced their debut EP release “VOODOO”. After many months of teeth gritting hard work, it is said to be released sometime in mid-November.

The four young lads, who have been together as a band for less than a year and already toured with Scottish band Kassidy and had many sold out successful shows all over Scotland. All band members resemble 50’s greasers – all dressed in black not to mention their perfectly quiffed hair – with a sound inspiration of Elvis Presley, Howlin’ Wolf, and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

This band definitely have the look as well as the sound to a promising future.

John Gerrard O’neill, who is the bands lead singer, has a powerful and traditional almost hypnotic voice and is certainly not scared to give it his all  while performing on stage. Drummer, Joshua Campbell,  keeps the band in rocking rythm with his outstanding skills and both bass guiatrist Stuart Ivens and lead guitarist Conor Goldie, show great skills and help with vocals to add to the overall effect of the songs with lots of  rock and roll growls.

Their new songs such as “Girl Gang” and “Black Magic” demonstrate the bands exciting tight sound, as well as their outstanding lyrical skills. The band does all their own design work for their gig posters, EP covers, as well as their own original and unique merchandise.

Jamie Madden (@CouponQueen) posted on the bands twitter saying “@Blindfoldsx outperform headline.” From the gig at Electric Circus in Edinburgh they recently played. The band has a growing fan base by the day and seems to have an ever increased interest from around the UK.

They play The Doghouse in Dundee this Friday (tickets on the door), and have promised they will have a show in Glasgow for their EP release too sometime in November.

This band is one to keep an eye on for sure!
